July 18th, 2016 - HALF WAY!!!

Hey family!!!!!:)

Oh my lanta, you guys, IM HALFWAY!!!!!!!! 9 months down, 9 to go!!!!
WOOP WOOP!!!:) this is so exciting and crazy at the same time!!!!

It was so good to hear from you guys! I love getting all the pictures
and updates! It literally makes me so happy:)

Okay so this week lets see what happened.

Tuesday morning we helped P by pulling her weeds. That was nice
because the weather was overcast and not too hot. Then we rode our
bikes for what felt like years haha to get to our dinner different
lessons and then our dinner appointment. Ew and we had chili for
dinner and it was gross haha.

Wednesday we had a lesson with this cute new investigator, E.
She is older and we taught her the restoration and then we put her on
date! This was my first lesson with her and the spirit was just so
strong. It was honestly such a great lesson! I was just so happy for
her because of how excited she became when we explained the
restoration. Oh man it's just amazing to be able to see different
people come to feel the spirit and learn the things that will bless
their lives! It's so great!

Thursday, was my HUMP DAY!!!!:) yay and it was such a fun day! S
came out with us and she took us to firehouse subs for lunch:) and omg
it was so good but also so weird because the last time I was at
firehouse subs was 9 months ago right before I went to the MTC with
dad. It brought back so many memories! So after lunch we went with
S to knock some doors and no one was really home so we didn't
have anything to crazy happen. Lol after that we went to help a lady
peel apples for a service project. Literally peel apples. Mom this is
literally something you've been preparing me for my whole life!!!
Hahah all those times that you taught me to peel an apple helped me
with this! Haha I was so proud. So the reason we were peeling apples
is because she has an apple tree and she just has so many apples that
she cant eat them before they go bad so she asked us to help her peel
them so she could freeze them and then lady use them for apple pie and
apple sauce. It was really fun, although we did this for like 2 hours
so my poor hands were very sore haha. Then for dinner we went to a
pizza place with this family, the lady who actually knows grandma
Irene! It was fun, and the place was called uncle D's pizza and it
made me think of dad because Mary Frances calls him uncle d hahaha.

Friday all of our lessons canceled which was a big bummer. But we
spent a lot of the day inside planning so that was good.
Saturday was a busy morning. Grandma B came out with us and drove
us around which is always the best. Then we went to the church and had
a zone lunch with our new zone since transfers were Wednesday. It was
fine.

OH! I almost forgot. This week I get to go to the temple!!!! Not once
but twice!!!!:) I am going Thursday at 3 with my zone, so a bunch of
missionaries. And then Friday I am going again at 3 because someone I
was teaching in my last area, Sister B, is going through for her
first time so I get to go!!!!!!:) I am so excited!!!!! This is exactly
what I need and I'm just so ready!!!!! :) oh and I also get to go to
dinner with B on Saturday and I'm so excited:) it should be a
really good week:)

So this week during one of my studies I was reading an article and I
just really enjoyed it and wanted to share my thoughts and feelings
with you guys. But first I want to know how your own missionary
efforts are going? Just because I have a tag doesn't mean I should be
the only missionary in the family. Every single one of you can be a
missionary and share the gospel. All you need to do is open your mouth
and invite!!! Talk about the things you know to be true and what you
do at church! This gospel blesses our lives each and everyday. It
makes us happy each and everyday!! So why not share it with our
friends and neighbors so that they can receive the happiness and
blessings too?? Food for thought. I want to challenge you guys this
next week to look for opportunities to share the gospel. And pray for
opportunities and guidance on what to say. Yes it can be a little
scary or nerve racking but as you search for these experiences and act
on them, Heavenly Father will bless you, provide a way, and help you.
I've seen this over and over in my own missionary work. But as I put
my fears aside and put faith in God, miracles happen. And especially
in this work we (the missionaries) need the help of all the members in
the Ward we serve. There is nothing worse than not having support from
the Ward. So ask yourself, what are you doing to help the
missionaries, no, Heavenly Father? I can testify that this is His work
and that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. No
matter how big or little they may be. Simply sharing your testimony,
or what you know to be true is missionary work. So please, from a
missionary who understands that the Ward can totally make a
difference, look for and ACT upon these experiences that are placed in
front of you. At the store, at the pool, at work, Heavenly Father is
preparing hearts all around us and all we need to do is trust in Him
and go and do.

Next thing I would love to know is how are the missionaries doing in
the Encino park Ward? Anything exciting going on? Do they have any
leads that look promising? Are you guys offering help to them?
Kylee you should offer to go out with them to a lesson,
mom you too. From experience, when members come to lessons with us
they are usually the best lessons. The spirit that members bring
really helps and makes all the difference. And when you ask the
sisters if you can go out with them instead of them begging and
calling 20 different people helps a bunch too. So these are just some
of my thoughts and feelings and I just really want to encourage you
guys to be looking for these experiences because they are all around
us waiting to happen:) and one last challenge lol, go to the gospel
library app and read this article in the March 2009 Ensign, Learning
to Share the Gospel. It's a beautiful talk about missionary work and
while I was reading it I just kept feeling prompted to share it with
you guys this week. Can't wait to hear all about your experiences next
week:)

Well I miss and love y'all to the moon and back!!!!
Thanks for writing me you guys, it means more than you'll know.
I hope y'all have a good and safe week:)

Ps don't forget to remember me;)

"Have faith, have hope, live like His Son, help others on their way."
