March 27th, 2017

Hi hello,

So good to hear from you guys! Honestly this week has gone by so fast! I seriously can't believe that I'm on my last transfer, I might have already said this but I feel like I'm on fast forward and everything is just speeding by! It's so weird!

So let's see, I can hardly remember this past week! Lol. Monday night we stopped by a few people so Sister Bevan could say goodbye to them. So nothing too crazy!

Tuesday was such a lovely day! The sun was shining and it was surprisingly warm outside! It really was so nice! We did some service in the morning and then the afternoon we had lessons so we were busy! And on top of that we had to get Sister Bevan ready to leave so we had to get her packed and ready to go! It was a crazy busy fast day! But it was good!

Wednesday morning we had to wake up early and get ready and drive to Longview (45minutes away) to take Sister Bevan to transfers. From Longview those who are getting transferred were going to carpool to Vancouver. So we get to Longview and we have a little prayer with everyone and then we say goodbye. We were all sitting on the couch and Sister Bevan just runs out haha. She didn't even say goodbye to any of us so we had to run outside to get her to say goodbye. Haha it was pretty funny, I think she was just really nervous about transfers so she forgot what was going on. She seems to do that a lot haha. So after she left the 3 of us pile in the car and we were off. Officially a trio. It was kind of weird at first, and occasionally it's still weird like we are missing someone but it's been really good! Having 2 companions at one time is a little weird but it's fun!

So Wednesday after we got home we had a lot of rearranging to do to get the apartment in order. We picked up for a little bit and then we had some people from the Ward come over so we move around our beds and dressers and such. Before we had 2 beds in each room. But since there are 3 of us and we have to sleep in the same room so we had to take apart the bunk beds and move them into my room since it's the bigger room and then put our dressers in the other room. It's actually really nice now because we have one room for our closet and to get ready and then we have one room for our beds. Haha it's really nice! We enjoy it!

After that we had a few people to stop by and some lessons to have. It's really weird the situation that I'm in. It's weird because I'm in my old Ward that knows me, but I'm also in a new Ward that doesn't. So half the time I know what's going on and I know the people and then the other half I'm getting to know knew people and they are getting to know me and it's all unfamiliar. Haha it's just strange to have both! And it's also weird because I'm on my last transfer so it's awkward when people ask my how much longer I have, and then I feel bad because poor sister Proctor is on her second month. Lol very diverse.

So I've talked about sister Proctor and sister Carrisoza but I feel like I haven't really given much detail so here's a little bit about my companions:
Sister Carrisoza is from San Diego, California. She has been out 14 months and it's crazy but we have served in a lot of the same areas! We've both served in La Center, Mt Scott, Hazel Dell. So we get to talk about the same people, it makes it nice! She has two sisters, likes to sing, and she's really funny.

Sister Proctor is from Richfield, Utah. She is really cool! Her first name is the same as mine! Haha it's funny, we keep meeting people with our name and it really throws us both off haha. She's the same age as Kylee so it's weird because she's like my little sister but it's fun. She reminds me of myself when I first came out. We get to share clothes so that's fun. Haha. It's going really well!

Friday we had weekly planning, and now that we have two Ward to cover it takes so much longer!!! Haha it was mentally exhausting!!! Then that night after dinner, sister Carrisoza was feeling real sick and since we are in a trio it made it easy to keep working. We just took Sister Carrisoza to a members house and sister Proctor and I went out to work. It was fun. Kinda weird being back to only 2 of us but it was fun. I was able to get to know her better and we were able to find a new investigator, C, out in the middle of nowhere. Haha it was fun, we have a lesson with her tomorrow so I will let y'all know how it goes:)

Saturday she was still not feeling well so sister Proctor and I went out to work again. We were so busy! We had a lesson in the morning and then in the afternoon we had some service out on a farm. And boy was it hard work! Haha let me tell you! So the lady needed help spreading out this carpet like stuff in her yard, it's to keep the grass from growing and to kill the weeds, it's also to put her garden boxes on. Anyway, she asked me and Sister Procter to spread it out, it was all bunched up in a pile, with mud on top, oh and it was also raining. And the lady hurt her hand so she couldn't help. And it was seriously soooo big! It was crazy! My body is still so sore from pulling and pulling and pulling. We had to shovel the mud off and then we got covered in mud. Lol it was intense. Then after that she needed help moving hay bells so then we got covered in hay as well. We were so dirty! Haha OH! Then while we were climbing around the hay I fell and I ripped my pants. Literally ripped them. I was so sad. Luckily that was the only thing that ripped. I'm just thankful I didn't break a bone! But still sad haha. I'll have to send you pictures next week, it's on sister proctors camera! Haha it was hilarious though.

After that we went to the church for the woman's conference and it was so good!!! Loved it and learned so much:)

Sunday was exhausting!!!! We have two wards to attend, the first one at 9am, and it was weird because I needed to bare my testimony to introduce myself into the new Ward, but also it was my last fast Sunday as a missionary so it was a little emotional. I got up in both wards and it was just crazy to think that next fast Sunday I'll be home! Haha CRAZY! So yesterday we were at church for a total of 8 hours. Haha it was SO LONG! Plus it was fast Sunday, so I had no strength but it was good. Learned a lot.

It's been crazy as I reflect back on my mission. I just can't believe that it will all be coming to an end so soon. I just seriously love it so much! I definitely have so much gratitude for this gospel and all that I've been taught! We had a cool experience this week while teaching a lady. We showed her the new restoration video where it puts all of the accounts Joseph Smith had into one and it shows the adversary taking ahold of Joseph and then slowly the screen goes completely dark until you only hear him breathing and then in that moment the light shines and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appear to Joseph Smith. The lady asked why he was afraid if he knew that the Lord would be there for him. It really made us think and I was able to understand that Heavenly Father was tying his faith. If we always just got answers to our prayers right away we wouldn't have much room to grow and trust God. But when we have to wait until we are in the dark out faith grows and we are strengthened. I totally have a testimony of this. Heavenly Father never gives us more than we can handle. He is always there for us and will help us through our trials if we just hold on. I know my Savior lives and I know the gospel is true.

I miss y'all so much!!!!!
And I love y'all to the moon and back!!!!!!

Have the best week ever and don't forget about me!!!! ;)

March 20th, 2017

Hello hello!

Alright alright, so first things first. WHAT THE HECK! Kylee is going on a mission!? I'm LITERALLY SO HAPPY!!!!!! And the Baltic's? WOW!!!! That is so insane!!!!! But amazing!!!! And I'm so excited that we get the summer together before she has to leave!!!!!!! Just remember that it's not where you serve, but it's who you serve! :) Also, I really need to understand why I am the last to hear about this?!? What in the world?!?

Okay so let me try and explain the transfer board to you guys. So the pictures that are tilted mean that they are getting transfer, as in they will be new to the area. For us, they circled our pictures and wrote tori-pan, which yes means, that me, sister Carrisoza and Sister Proctor will be in a trio. Haha apparently they need two sisters to kill me. Hahah (mission slang) So what is happening is they are combining the St. Helens 1st and 2nd Wards together and the 3 of us will be covering both wards. So we will be VERY BUSY. Which will be a good thing! Lol. And as far as I understand I will not be training. Sister Proctor has one more transfer of training and Sister Carrisoza will do the training, I will be doing something called My Plan, which is to help me get ready to come home. Of course I'll be there to help both of them out if they need anything. It'll be pretty crazy because in our trio we will have someone who just came out, someone who is half way, and then someone going home. So pretty much every aspect of missionary life lol.

So I'm guessing the reason that they put us in a trio is because there are a bunch of Sisters leaving, Sister Finn, Sister Hibbard, Sister Foster, and a bunch more, and only 1 maybe 2 coming out? So it just makes sense to put us together since we already live together. Honestly, I did not want to stay here in St. Helens, and as I was praying I pretty much told Heavenly Father that I couldn't stay and that I would go crazy and the only way, literally the only way, that I would stay is if I could be companions with either Sister Carrisoza or Sister Proctor because I already get along so well with them! And well, Heavenly Father really does hear our prayers! Lol even the crazy ones! So does that make sense about the trio now?

Alright so this week, nothing super exciting that I can remember... Tuesday afternoon we went to do a service with our district. But the elders didn't tell us what kind of service or anything so we show up to the address they sent us and it's this house in the middle of nowhere, and they have this big dumpster right in front of this house and then all around the house is just a bunch of trash, bikes, balls, tent poles, literally just random things. It was like a garage exploded! And our task was to pick the yard up and put it into this dumpster. Oh but the trick is that it's pouring down rain and we didn't know we would be outside, also everything it covered in mud. And we have no gloves. So it was a pretty crazy, we were so wet and cold by the end, oh and covered in mud! Haha it was nuts!

Wednesday night we had Book of Mormon class and we were getting all set up in the primary room when we saw a huge ant on the wall! So we kill it, then we see another, and another, we keep killing these suckers until we look up and notice they are just rolling out of this hole at the top of the wall! It was crazy! And these weren't just babies, they were the length of a nickel! So we ended up moving our class to the hall haha. It was so gross, and it made me very paranoid that ants were crawling all over me! Lol. Don't worry, we told somebody about the ants hah.

Wednesday we went on another district Blitz, this time for the St. Helens 2nd Sisters. And they just needed us to go tracting. So we go into their area and find an street that we think will be good and we just start going at it. Lol. Literally we just knocked and knocked and knocked. And honestly just about every person that answered the door was either rude, or slammed the door in our face. It was awful! I was not happy. And then we came to the last door of the area we were at and this lady answers and she looked so sad! So Sister Bevan starts going at it and talking to this lady and it sounded like she was just hopeless and like she had given up. So then I start talking to her and asking her some questions to try and see what she needs and where the gospel can help her. Anyway, she's just such a sweet lady! Her name is M and she has been through a lot in her life, she's about 50 or something. She just recently lost her house, her job, and her car broke down on her. She told us she feels like when she takes one step forward she takes 4 steps back. It was really sad. We started talking and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and she just feels lost. After a long conversation and after she cried a few times I gave her a hug and started testifying to this lady about the power that God has and how He can do all things. I testified that I didn't come randomly to her door and that God was trying to tell her something important. It was really cool because it was like I wasn't the one talking, like an out of body experience. Then we got her number and committed her to come to church on Sunday with us, so I'm really hoping that she will be there! It was a really cool experience! And after we were driving away I got the feeling that she was why I was still here, and I also got the feeling, I kid you not, that I might be put into the 2nd Ward so I could work with her. It was crazy. But little did I know that I would be put into a trio and now I actually get the chance to teach her! So I'm excited!

Saturday was pretty fun. So right down the road from us Mod Pizza was having its grand opening and we just had to go! Haha just so ya know Mod is a really good pizza place, I went in Vancouver, it's like a Subway but for pizza, you can put as many toppings on as you want and it's the same price, oh and it's thin crust pizza. It's just so good! So we went to the grand opening and it was so much fun! 🍕🍕

Then Saturday afternoon we went to this mans house that needed some service and he was legit crazy! Lol. It was weird. Oh and his house was so gross!!! He has like 4 dogs and they all just use the house as their bathroom, seriously! He showed us his bed room and there was like 4 piles of poop all over his floor! It was bad! Also, his dishes in the sink were piled so high and they were very dirty and have been sitting there for years! Lol and then! He has this spare room that he has a bunch of food in and it's mostly all expired. It was gross! The peanut butter expired in 2012! Oh and he asked us to try and organize it and then he told us his wife had died in this room.... oh man it was so bad! The smell. Oh gosh. I get sick just thinking about it! Haha

And then for dinner we went to dinner with this family we are teaching to sunshine pizza. Yep, pizza twice in one day. Haha but it was good. BUT THEN! After dinner we were going to a lesson with an investigator and we get there and they were making dinner and they wanted us to stay for dinner, so we had to eat dinner again! Oh man, it was seriously so hard, I was so full! Thought I was gonna pop! Lol but we had a good lesson with her, ML and also her roommate, A who is now a new investigator!!!:) woop 🙌🏼

And then Saturday night was crazy, that's when we found out about transfers and when we opened the email and saw that we were going to be in a trio we all screamed and were freaking out! It was intense! Haha Sister Bevan seems pretty excited to leave, and I'm ready to be done training! I'm excited for the change!

But yeah, that's been my week!

I just want y'all to know how much I love this gospel. We had the chance to watch the restoration movie this week with our recent convert, R, and it was just awesome. The spirit was so strong and I just felt this wave of gratitude and love fall over me. We are literally so blessed to have the gospel. I'm so thankful to Joseph Smith for being humble enough to ask God and I'm grateful that Heavenly Father blessed us with the restored gospel. Not changed in anyway, but the same gospel and church Christ set up. It makes me so happy and it makes me so happy to share it with others. This week when we were talking to M she asked us why we do it and I simply told her how happy it makes me to live the gospel and then to share it! And I'm serious! It brings me so much joy and fills me with so much love! God is good!

I miss y'all so freaking much! Can't believe it's my last transfer! 😐

LOVE YALL TO THE MOON AND BACK

March 13th, 2017

Hey hey,

Well as of today I have 50 days left on my mission. Honestly it feels CRAZY! Like I feel like it's just crazy talk and that it's not real haha. So with that being said, I try not to think about it. But what I find even crazier is that tomorrow is my 17 MONTH MARK! (Jaw drop lol) honestly What. The. Heck. Hahah, I remember like it was yesterday getting dropped off at the mtc. I remember perfectly when I was 2 months out. And I remember talking to missionaries who were where I am now and thinking I'll never make it. Well, here I am. Haha. Bam, just like that I woke up and I'm almost at the finish line. It's been the longest, hardest race of my life but I've also had the most amazing experiences out here and I'm just so grateful for all the things I've learned and had the opportunity to go through. I'm such a different person and I like to think a better person, and I'm really thankful for the person Heavenly Father has molded me to be. And I know that He will keep molding me as I live the gospel. This is definitely a gospel of growth and change and hope. And so much more. I love it!

Alright so today has been a good day so far, besides it pouring all day long. Lol. We went to get our hair trimmed and the lady went a little crazy and now I feel like I look like Tarzan... seriously hahahah. I'll have to fix my hair before I send pictures of it up close lol. Then after that we went grocery shopping and then we went to get our toes done!:) it was so awesome! Felt so so good and now my toes look so much better! It was pretty bad before! Haha. The people were so funny though. They were crazy and all over the place. Then the lady offered to take the picture and then she wanted me to show her the pictures she took hahah. So she was yelling at me, "show me picture! (Add Asian accent), MORE!" Then she would chuckle then yell "MORE" hahah. It was really funny. So that was really nice and very much needed:)

So rewind to last week, Monday night we went to visit K (the one that came to church and asked about being baptized! We had a really good visit with her and she said she wants to be baptized July 7th so we put her on date:) it was so great! It was also a hard moment for me because I never thought I would get to the point of putting someone on date for a day that I won't be on my mission. How freaky. I can't even imagine what I will be doing by then but it's weird. Anyway, that was really exciting Monday night!

Tuesday, ehh it was a hard day. It was pouring all day long, go figure. Lol. In the morning we had district Meeting and Sister Carrisoza and I get called on randomly to give the restoration and usually we have time to practice for this but not this time. I was nervous but I've done this like a million times so it honestly wasn't so bad. Sister Carrisoza had a laughing attack in the middle of it though so that was awkward haha.

After district meeting we were in a weird mood, like a funk, and we couldn't get out of it. It was a rough afternoon honestly. Our lessons kept canceling and it was really annoying. And I was so mad because our lesson with one of our new investigators, D, wasn't home. So that was a huge bummer. And the rain was only making the day more depressing. So the four of us sisters went to take a mental break and they got fro yo. I just sat and enjoyed my time to think. Also enjoyed the music that the place was playing. It made me happy when a song came on that I knew, and it made me happier when I still remembered the words. Gives me hope that I won't be completely lost when I go back to the real world. Haha.

That evening we went to ARP with a less active we are working with. It was so good! I think everyone should go to ARP regardless of having an addiction. It's very helpful and gives lots of hope. I enjoyed it!

Wednesday night we started this new thing in our Ward with the other sisters and it's a Book of Mormon study class. I sent y'all a picture of who came. So basically it's just like a Sunday school class, we study a chapter of the Book of Mormon every week. We take turns teaching the class with the other sisters and everyone is welcomed. We are really excited to see how it goes. We've talked to a few members and they seem excited about it too. And it was so great because R came and he was really excited and participated. It was good!

Thursday, not really an exciting day. Omg but that night. Ugh. I'm pretty sure that me and my companion got food poisoning because towards the end of our dinner appointment my tummy felt like it was getting stabbed over and over and it was cramping and I was dying. We get in the car and both of us are almost in tears because we both were feeling the same thing. So we ran home to use the restroom but it didn't help at all. We both were still so sick. But we had some lessons so we figure we will go and just make them short lessons. So we drive to our first lesson and they canceled. Then we decide to go to our next lesson early and they weren't home so we decided Heavenly Father was telling us we needed to take care of ourselves so we went home and rested so we could at least be somewhat productive. I felt lazy so I needed to feel like I wasn't giving up. Haha that's the real missionary in me coming out. Anyway, it was a long night and I'm glad it didn't last long. Oh and it was weird because dinner wasn't even bad. We had salad with pasta and some spicy shredded chicken. Maybe it was too spicy? Idk lol.

Friday, we had our relief society anniversary dinner and we got there early to help them set up and we kept asking them how we could help but they basically ignored us and never told us what to do. I was so mad, here we were trying to help, literally we would have don't anything and nothing. It was very rude honestly. I just felt like I didn't matter to them. But the dinner part was nice. Had a pretty good turn out!

Saturday nothing too exciting happen, oh except that the rain went away in the afternoon and the sun came out!!! It was sooo beautiful! I loved it! And Sunday it was super nice outside too! It didn't rain at all!!!! I was so happy!

But Saturday night we had a lesson with R at the church with Brother O and Brother D. Haha it was pretty funny so I had to take a picture to send to y'all. My Saturday night consisted of a bunch of old men haha. It was cute.

Well that's pretty much my week! I still love this gospel and I'm so thankful for repentance. We had a good lesson with a man this week about repentance and it's really a blessing we have! We get the chance to grow and change ever single week as we take the bread and water. I love Heavenly Fathers perfect plan and the scriptures that teach us. I've had some pretty awesome passages come into my life and they are just amazing! I know that they are inspired and that we can learn so much from them!

I miss you guys so much
And I love y'all to the moon and back!!!!!

Don't forget to remember me;)

March 6th, 2017

Hi,

So hmmm, what to tell you about my week...

Today, we woke up to a layer of snow... lame!!!!! But the sun is out and so it's already melting. I'm SO DONE with all the snow lol. Also is was raining like all week and I'm so so so ready for the sun to come out and for it to be dry!!!

Tuesday night at community meals girl came up to us, her name is T and she said she just moved in and wants to start coming back to church. She's a member but hasn't been to church in a while. So we gave her our info and found a ride for her for church and it was really awesome! Definitely a miracle:)

Wednesday we had Zone meeting in Rainier and it was a really good meeting! Then after we went to help a lady with a quilt in project with the other sisters. She told us to create a quilt and it was really hard because she wanted us to make a scene and we just couldn't visualize it but we ended up designing something, well actually she came and designed it and we just found her pieces of fabric. It was pretty funny. Then we had a few lessons that night and they were pretty good!

Omg but we have been doing one killer leg workouts the last two days and dang, every morning I woke up my legs felt like they were going to explode! No joke I was in so much pain I thought I was gonna cry or die! Haha I could barely walk, it was bad!!! Sister Bevan was sweet though and rubbed my legs. They are better now, but it was sooo bad!!!! Lol

Thursday morning we went to do another service project with the other sisters. We cleaned one lady's bathroom and it honestly made me want to throw up. I just don't understand how you can let your bathroom get so dirty. Ugh. Then we went to help a lady knit. She taught us how to knit but the way she was teaching was so fast that I couldn't keep up with her! Haha and so I was very confused and just acted like I knew what I was doing haha. It was pretty funny. Then I would hand it to her and she would do a few more stitches or something and then give it back to me, so the blanket is slowly getting bigger but not because of me, but because I kept getting her to do it haha. It was hilarious. Knitting is not my favorite. Lol

Thursday night B came out to take us to dinner!!!:) and it was so great to see her:) made me so happy! So that was nice!

Then that evening, it was so great! Earlier that week, we asked our Ward mission leader, Brother O, to pray for a street for us to tract and he told us 8th street. So after dinner we went to 8th street and we didn't have a lot of time but we knew that we needed to knock a few doors. So sister Bevan and I felt inspired to knock this one house, our first house, and we found a new investigator, D! Then the next house we knock was having a bible study but they were really nice, but the 3rd house we found another new investigator, M! It was seriously such a miracle because it's so hard to find new investigators! So it was seriously soooo awesome!!!:)

Friday night we went to sunshine pizza with our Ward, it's a fun little tradition they do here with the missionaries. Then we had a church tour with Our investigator T, not toe T, this is a different one, and his girlfriend, E. So we cleaned up the church a little to make it look nice and as we were doing that I just thought to myself how blessed we are to have church buildings to meet in. And how awesome it is that we get to worship our Heavenly Father every week as we go to church! Anyway, the church tour was really great! We were really sad because we couldn't find anyone to come with us to our tour but it worked out. I just want y'all to know how important it is to have members help out with missionary work. We really need y'alls help and it really makes it hard when we can't find people to come out with us. So please please please, for my sake, go out with the missionaries!!!! Ask them if they have any lessons this week that they need a member to go with them! It really means the world!!! :)

So anyway, the tour was nice, we showed them around the building and explained what each room was used for and the purpose and such. A church tour is really nice because if gives the people an opportunity to get inside the building and feel the spirit and get comfortable without a bunch of strangers being there. So it was really nice! We are hoping it helps them feel better about coming on Sunday!

Saturday morning we had a child of record baptism, M, and we have been teaching her to get her ready for it because her dad isn't a member and her mom is less active but it was really nice! It was fun to be apart of it! We gave the restoration and it was awesome because a bunch of her family was there and I'm pretty sure they aren't members. It was good. Oh and also I had to lead the music hahah it was pretty funny, I've been trying to learn to lead and it was fun! Although I'm not very good at it! Hah
Oh another miracle happened on Saturday night! So after dinner we were stopping by someone that someone asked us to visit and as we did, we saw the lights on at an investigators house we've been trying to get into. Every time we stop by she's never home. But tonight we saw the lights so we stopped by and she was home and let us in!!!!:)  ahhh it was seriously such a miracle!!!! We were so happy! So we visited with her for a little bit, shared a message and set up another lesson for every week:) which is so big!!!! We are really excited to start meeting with her!!:) oh her name is, ML :) and she told us that she would read the Book of Mormon and she found out that her friend was moving and she didn't have anything to give her so she decided to give her the Book of Mormon and she said her friend said that reading it has totally changed her life! So cool!!! ML is already being a missionary! Haha, so we are really excited to work with her:) I'll keep you posted!

And then!!! Haha on Sunday TR came to church which we were really excited about and she even brought a friend who isn't a member and we were really excited. We introduced ourselves to her and welcomed her. Then after testimony meeting she came up to me and Sister Bevan and asked, "what do I do to get baptized?" Omg I just started smilinggg, it was so exciting for us! We told her that we could help her and now we are going to have a lesson with her tonight at 8:) oh and her name is K :) #miracleshappen So that was super cool:)

For dinner we had stake and potatoes which was really good, but this family had a bowl of skittles on the table and we thought they were dessert but while we were loading up our baked potatoes they put some sour cream and skittles in their potatoes and I was like what the heck hahah. Well they made me try it because they said I couldn't judge until I tried it and honestly it wasn't that bad. Like you had to wait for the skittles to melt but it was good. Haha I felt kinda weird eating candy in my potato so I stopped but it was good! Lol these crazy Oregonians hahaha.

Well that's my week! I know that Heavenly Father is aware of each of us as we are each His children. I know that He is always watching out for us and blesses us with the things we stand in need of! I'm so grateful for the gospel and the hope it gives. I truly feel the hope in my life everyday as I love it. Also the peace. I couldn't make it in this life without the gospel! I'm so happy to have it in my life. I'm so grateful that we have a living prophet today and for the continued revelation we get. I know that Heavenly Father is watching out for us and I know that He loves us. I know that miracles happen and that as we pray and look for them we will find them! I'm grateful for my eternal family and for the many things I've learned!

I miss y'all so much and I LOVE YALL TO THE MOON AND BACK!

Don't forget to remember me;)
Have the best week!
